It was a while since I did projects in "Two for One Tuesday" category. If you are not familiar with it - I pick same layout and create 2 different projects.
For today's project I picked Best Dressed designer paper as my inspiration. It is always easy to start with DSP or suite of products as it gives you an idea for color combination. I recently watched a video how to create a background from 1/2" strips of paper and wanted to try. But instead of using just strips of card stock - I also added wider strips of DSP.
Here is the first card I made:
All card stock strips are 1/2". You often have a lot of leftover strips when cutting 4 x 5 1/4 mats for your cards. DSP strips are 3/4". I had many leftovers form 6 x 6 paper and was glad I saved them. This color combo turned a little bold for me, even so I love the finished card with matching sentiment.
On a second card I reduced number of colors to just 2 for strips of cardsock and picked softer combination:
What do you think? Which one of those is your favorite?
It is easy to make this layout. Start with 3 3/4 x 5" of whisper white and glue your first strip diagonally. Glue another strip and so on, trim the access. Then do another one starting from the center. One day I will do a quick video:)
This paper is amazzing and will be only available till end of May. Do not miss it.
Happy Stamping!
